Unique Window Treatment Ideas

Whether you have a new home or you’re redecorating, the fastest way to a fresh look is great window treatments, but if you’re tired of the traditional curtains and blinds, there are lots of other options out there. In fact, there are several incredibly unique window treatment choices available today that you may not have previously considered and all of them are guaranteed to change the way you look at your windows.

  • Privacy Screens: Much like traditional shutters, privacy screens are a great choice when you need to completely block out the light. Typically constructed out of wood or faux wood, these often work well with a farmhouse rustic style. Of course, if you need something a little more traditional, you could always opt for old-world shutters!
  • Frosted Glass: Frosted glass offers you privacy and some filtered light as well. It’s a nice touch in spaces where you want to let the light shine in, but you don’t want your neighbors to be able to see in. It can also be a beautiful decorative element in your home. Keep in mind, though, that wherever you use frosted glass, you won’t be able to see out, so use it wisely in spaces within your home.
  • Stained-Glass: Few things are quite as beautiful as a stained-glass window, and when the light hits it, you’ll get lovely filtered rays throughout your space. This window treatment idea can get expensive, though, and it has many of the same drawbacks as frosted glass, so use it wisely in various spaces within your home.
